Communication without borders

Localization ensures that the addressee does not sense that the product or content he/she is observing is of foreign origin, and not only on a linguistic level. Localization demands sensitivity and a sharp eye for detail. It also requires a high degree of precision to ensure, for example, that the language on a user interface in product documentation (online help and manual) is rendered both accurately and consistently. All of our colleagues entrusted with localization projects are experienced translators and computer users who are particularly familiar with the cultural particularities of the relevant target markets.

Localization includes the following elements:

• Translation of display screens, online help, and manuals
• Localization of pictorial and audio-visual content
• Conversion of decimal and 1,000-unit separators, time formats, units of measurement, currencies and similar
• Inspection for potentially inflammatory or unacceptable content
• Usability tests in accordance with technical, linguistic, logical and cultural criteria
